B12 $2.00 GEORGE H. STEINMETZ – THE HONORED MASONIC AUTHOR

This is an examination of the writings of George H. Steinmetz as an example of a Masonic author that teaches and advocates occult and New Age doctrines and practices. In this analysis we will be quoting from three of Steinmetz’s books, The Royal Arch Its Hidden Meaning, Freemasonry Its Hidden Meaning, and The Lost Word Its Hidden Meaning; all of the books published by the Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company, Inc., Richmond, Virginia. First we will deal with quotes from the writings of Steinmetz and then we will present Scriptures that show the true teaching from the Bible. The teaching of the Masonic author will become readily apparent as will the hidden meaning of Freemasonry.

The Bible according to Steinmetz:

Literally, Look to the East. Turn to the Sacred Books of the East and it is discovered that the Bible is but a fragmentary synopsis brought by those first “travlers” who migrated from India to Egypt and Chaldea where the doctrine was treasured by priests who carved it in hieroglyphics upon temple and tomb;…..

From the Egyptians and later from the Babylonians and Chaldeans the Jews obtained many religious and philosophic concepts which, intermingled with the ideas of their own wise men and religious leaders, have been preserved in their Sacred Books which we now call our “Holy Bible”.1

What the Holy Bible really says:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for istruction in righteousness:
17. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

II Timothy 3:16-17

A New Name and A New Concept of God according to Steinmetz:

Even the similitude of a “New Name” for Deity is present. Regardless of any and all names by which the Supreme Being has previously been recognized, the candidate in Masonry for the first time in his life is introduced to the concept of God as — “THE SUPREME ARCHITECT OF THE UNIVERSE.”2

What the Holy Bible really says:

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6. But to us there is but one God the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

I Corinthians 8:5-6

The Ultimate Objective of Freemasonry is to show Man that He is a god.

According to Steinmetz:

The Bible teaches how humanity must first come to a realization of its own divinity and then regain that divinity. This is the ultimate objective of both the Bible and Freemasonry–..3

The idea that man is a god or can become a god is the original lie of Satan and is one of the foundational mainstream teachings of the New Age Movement. You hear the same concept from New Age spokespersons such as, Shirley Maclaine and other New Age Gurus.

What the Holy Bible says:

For God doth know that in the days ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Genesis 3:5

According to Steinmetz:

Of all the material creation man alone can declare “I AM.” But those words are far more than a declaration of a material fact. To so declare is recognition of consciousness – a statement of recognized individuality. AN AFFIRMATION OF DIVINITY – for ONLY God, and man, made in HIS image, can declare “I AM.”4

The Holy Bible says:

And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Genesis 3:14

Steinmetz:

With the objective mind man makes his conscious decisions. It is the seat of the ability to choose. He has the Power of Choice. It is the objective mind which recognizes the fact and says: “I AM!”5

Steinmetz:

However we hope to subsequently establish the fact that Freemasonry and Mental Science are synonymous.6

Freemasonry carries on the teaching of the Mystery Religions

Steinmetz:

Regardless of the origin of the modern lodge, or of the name “Freemason,” we can, after freeing the symbolism of modern adaptation, discern in Free masonry the outline of the teachings of the ancient mysteries of Egypt.7
