THE ULTIMATE TRUTH PDF
(This is a portion of our Romans Commentary Book.)
What you are about to read are the most important facts (truths) that you will ever read. We are speaking of this book you are reading now, or any other book that you will ever read during your lifetime. The section you are about to read contains the ULTIMATE TRUTH and KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNIVERSE.
DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS SECTION COMPLETELY THROUGH!
The Word of God says that there is a knowledge so important that we will perish if we don’t know it.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Hosea 4:6
Jesus said there is a truth so powerful that if we know it we will be set free.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32
The New Testament states there is a knowledge about God so important that if we know it, we will have everything we need to live a Godly life.
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, {3} According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {4} Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2 Peter 1:2-4
We certainly need to know these facts, these things, above all other things and we need to be able to share them with others. These ‘facts’ are truths about the gospel of Jesus Christ which unlocks the power of God to all who will learn them and believe them.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16
DON’T STOP READING NOW – thinking that you know all about the facts surrounding the gospel. We pray that you do know all the facts, but it is quite likely that you do NOT; because the facts you are about to read are rarely taught by the modern church. REMEMBER, PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE SECTION before you decide you have been taught all the facts about the gospel.
Thank God that we are not saved by our ‘heads’ according to what we know, but we are saved by our ‘hearts’ when we repent and believe the gospel. But the following facts are what we must believe if we are going to be saved.
- That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures
- That He was buried
- That He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; {2} By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. {3} For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; {4} And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
If you believe these three simple facts and understand that You are a sinner and that Jesus died for Your sins to pay the penalty for Your sins, You are ready to repent and believe the gospel.
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 1:15
To “repent” you need to simply acknowledge to God that you are a sinner and that you are willing to turn from your sins and to receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life and to follow Him. If you understand these simple truths and your heart is willing, you can now pray to become a Christian and receive eternal life. You can pray a prayer of your own choosing or you can pray the following simple sample prayer.
Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ to die for my sins on the cross of Calvary. I ask you to forgive my disobedience and I now accept Jesus’ death on the cross and His shed blood as payment for my sin debt. I now receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life that I may follow Him all of my days. I thank you for your wonderful gift of Salvation! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
If you prayed that simple prayer with simple Faith and an honest heart, you are ready to publicly confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, that you are truly saved, and are now a Christian.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
There are now some more very important facts you need to know about what happened to you. You have just experienced what Jesus called being “born again.”
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 3:3
Ths experience – this ‘heart change’ has brought about some changes that you need to understand.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Important Fact # one
At the moment you prayed to receive Jesus as the Lord of your life, you experienced new birth and God put withing you a new nature and the Holy Spirit to dwell in your heart.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: {4} Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
2 Peter 1:3-4
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:19
You will soon realize that there has been quite a change indeed. You now have the Holy Spirit to guide you and you have a new nature from God that will give you not only the desire to follow Jesus and do what is right, but also the ability to keep following him by FAITH.
Important Fact #two
At the moment you were born again you “died to sin.” And to be more specific, you became dead to your own sinful nature.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? {2} God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Romans 6:1-2
The sin that is spoken of in Romans 6:1-2 in the Greek Text is literally, “The Sin” and refers to the sinful human nature that we are all born with rather than the individual acts or works of sin. (Gal. 5:19-21). YOUNG’S LITERAL TRANSLATIONS gives the literal translation of this verse and shows us the definite article ‘the’ before the word sin.
What then, shall we continue in the sin that the grace may abound? (YOUNG’S LITERAL TRANSLATIONS OF THE HOLY BIBLE, Baker Book House)
At the moment you were born again you became dead to your sinful nature which means that you had absolute victory over your sinful nature at that point in time. This is what the Apostle Paul refers to in Romans 6:3 as being baptized into Christ.
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:3
This verse isn’t talking about water baptism, but baptism “into Jesus Christ.” This happens by faith when we are born again even though we don’t fully understand it at the time. As previously stated, at the moment you were born again you had complete victory over your sinful nature.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Romans 6:7
Many Christians testify to the wonderful feelings of peace, joy, and victory that they experienced when they were saved. Most honest Christians will also testify they also experienced failure and their bubble burst bringing them back down to planet earth soon after. The main reason for this is that while the Christian understands that he is saved by “grace through faith,” he usually tries to achieve sanctification by ‘works’ which is an impossible task.
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Galatians 3:3
This usually happens to the new convert through no fault of their own, but because they are not taught properly. When most Christians think about “getting the victory” they think about how they can stop committing some specific sin. They usually pray for the Lord to help them to Stop: cigarettes, alcohol, pornography, gambling, etc. The problem in reality is not these specific “sins,” but “the sin” – the sinful nature that is ruling over the Christian. The Christian then falls into the trap of trying to do specific things to overcome the problem or addiction. This is what we call Sanctification by works and will only yield temporary results. There is only one way to win this battle.
THE ONLY WAY TO ACHIEVE VICTORY OVER OUR OWN SINFUL NATURE IS TO DIE TO IT!
The only way to die to “the sin” (sinful nature) is to step from the realm of Law into the realm of Grace and Faith.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Romans 6:14
Most Christians upon reading Romans 6:14 believe they are automatically under grace because live in New Testament times. This is far from the truth. Many Christians are under a law of their own creation and are trying to keep their own law to work their problems out. The sad truth is they will never achieve their freedom from “the sin” doing that. This is what the Word of God calls frustrating the grace of God.
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Galatians 2:21
The grace of God is the only way we can truly grow in the Lord.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
2 Peter 3:18
Please understand! We are sure the things most Christians do to help overcome the sin problem are good things that they need to do such as: going to church, reading the Bible, fasting, having hands laid on them in prayer, or even prayer itself. These things often become self-imposed laws a person makes for themselves. We know these are all great things to do, but if you are doing them in order to get rid of the sin problem in your life, YOU WILL FAIL. THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF THE SIN PROBLEM AND THAT IS THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST AND HIS SHED BLOOD. If you fail to understand what this truth means, you will fail in your battle against sin.
REMEMBER, THE ONLY WAY
YOU CAN GET VICTORY OVER SIN
IS TO DIE TO IT BY FAITH IN THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST
That is the way you need to understand this book. This book you are reading does not contain things to replace the cross of Christ, but it does contain things that will help you after you place your faith in the cross of Christ. Let us be more specific. The Word of God tells us that our old man (sinful nature) was crucified when we were born again.
And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 5:24
They “have crucified” (past tense) – the “flesh” (old man, sinful nature) at the time they were born again. At this point in time you had victory over your sinful nature and it did not reign over you. It is clear from the Word of God that this is what happened when you were born again. YOU DIED TO SIN ( YOUR OLD SELF).
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. {7} For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Romans 6:6-7
We need to understand that the cross isn’t just something that we hear about when we are saved but it is the focus of our daily walk.
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
1 Corinthians 15:31
We can die to sin daily because we don’t have to try to “get the victory” over sin because Jesus has already won the victory for us. His death on the cross fully paid the sin debt and nothing else can ever take its place. The only fight that we have to fight is the fight of Faith.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
1 John 5:4
Here are a few last facts that you will need to understand.
- You can live in victory over your sinful nature to the point that it does not reign over you, but it will never be completely gone.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:8
- You will always be subject to being tempted because of your fallen nature that remains in you. You will battle with our un-Godly world and the Satanic forces that oppose you.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
- If you yield to sin your fallen nature can reign over you once again and you will have to exercise I John 1:9 and replace your faith in the cross on a daily basis.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Galatians 3:11
We have three ingredients to the victorious Christian life:
- the cross
- our daily faith in it
- and the Holy Spirit who makes the victory real in our life.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
Roman 6:11 is a key verse. As we believe and confess by faith that our old man died with Jesus on Calvary and that through the new nature within us we also live with him, we die to sin once again. WE REIGN OVER SIN – SIN DOESN’T REIGN OVER US.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:11
This doesn’t mean that we live in a life of sinless perfection and no failures. There is no such thing, but Does mean that we stand by faith in the victory that he has already won for us. Our faith in the cross will release the Holy Spirit in our life to give us true victory.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Romans 8:37
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
This is what Jesus was talking about in Luke 9:23 when Jesus said that a Christian had to deny himself he was not talking about earthly things that he needed to give up. What we need to deny is that there is anything (or any self-imposed law we can keep) that we can do about our sin problem.
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luke 9:23
Our biggest problem is our own self sufficiency that lies at the very root of our fallen nature. When you realize THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO ABOUT SIN IS TO DIE TO IT – you will know THE TRUTH THAT SETS YOU FREE!
As you place your faith in the cross, the Seven Steps to Healing in the Gilead’s Balm book written by us will aid your growth in the process of sanctification. We have proclaimed to you THE ULTIMATE TRUTH – the way of liberty.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luke 4:18
May the Holy Spirit anoint you as you stand by faith in the victory of Jesus Christ.
