APPENDIX FOUR – SCRIPTURES ON HOMOSEXUALITY PDF
In this appendix, we will be addressing the issue of homosexuality. Although the word lesbian is not in the Bible, the word itself has a meaning directly connected to the word homosexual.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: {27} And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Romans 1:26-27
Some of the best Scriptures to prove that homosexuality is wrong is Leviticus 20:13 and 18:22. It is impossible for homosexuals to dispute them, although they may try to say the Scriptures refer to the old law. We know however, that Christ is the fulfillment of the law.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 20:13
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Leviticus 18:22
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; {9} Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, {10} For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1 Timothy 1:8-10
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: {4} That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. {5} For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. {6} For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. {7} Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. {8} So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:3-8
Many times as a minister we will hear from homosexuals themselves that the word “homosexuality” is not in the Bible. It is not in the King James Version of the Bible, but we will find the word “effeminate”. That means to take on the characteristics of a feminine being. If we look in the Greek language, we can find the real meaning of the word. The NIV, NASB, and the NKJV versions do contain the word “homosexual”.
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, {10} Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. {11} And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11

The Strong’s Exhaustive Concordinance gives us the following information about the word “effeminate”.
3120. malakos, mal-ak-os’; of uncert. affin.; soft, i.e. fine (clothing); fig. a catamite:–effeminate, soft.33
According to WEBSTER’S THIRD NEW INTERNATIONAL DICTIONARY we find the following meaning for effeminate:
1: marked by qualities more characteristic of and suited to women than to men: lacking manly strength and purpose…2..:Tender, soft, delicate.34

We also find the words “abusers of themselves with mankind” in the KJV version (1 Corinthians 6:9). The Greek meaning of that root word “abuser” is sodomite, and we know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. The King James Version does have the word “sodomites” in the text. Furthermore, we also find the word “fornicator” which means the following according to the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance:
4205. pornos, por’-nos; from pernemi (to sell; akin to the base of G4097); a (male) prostitute (as venal), i.e. (by anal.) a debauchee (libertine):–fornicator, whoremonger.35
However one tries to justify the absence of the actual word “homosexual”, it cannot be eradicated from the real meaning of the Scriptures, the original meaning of the word and such a person will not enter the Kingdom of God! No one has the excuse that they didn’t know any better. The next Scripture proves that truth.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: {21} Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Romans 1:20-21
We must remember that the Lord provided a way for all to be free and this is what he wants for those who have lost their way and chose the homosexual life style. He wants them to have joy and forgiveness.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
1 John 1:4-10
(5) This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
(6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
(7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
APPLYING THE BALM
Reach out to God for his saving grace, forgiveness, and mercy. If there is a doubt in your mind about your eternal destiny, please pray this prayer and contact us.
“Father God, I know I have not been living as you want me to. I am tired of living my life without your help. Break my stubborn will and help me to follow you. Please forgive me for my sins. I believe that your Son, Jesus, died on the cross to pay the price for my sins. Teach me your ways and fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can serve you for the rest of my life. I believe by my faith in what Jesus did on the cross I am justified or made right with you. Help me to learn more about you as I read your Holy Bible. Please help me to follow your commandments and the doctrine of Jesus. Thank you for loving me and forgiving me. I give myself totally to you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.”
As in the case of any type of sin, we must have the Victor search their hearts and be sure of their desire for salvation and repentance (See STEP NO. 1 – SALVATION).
